The engagment story: So, every other year, my mom likes to do family photos.  We did family photos last year, but we told Jenna that mom wanted to do photos again because Jenna and myself had both lost weight, my middle sister had gotten married, that same sister got a new dog, my mom/step-dad got a new dog — all of this since the photos last year — so mom wanted new photos and wanted to include all of the dogs as well.   Jenna was not necessarily excited about this, since we just took photo last year, and asked SO MANY questions about why we were doing photos, why she had to wear certain colors, In the meantime, I got her parents, my nana, and my dad in on this plan, and had them secretly come to Tulsa.  Saturday, we went to the park to take family photos, walked to the spot where the photographer had picked out.  After we did that, I volunteered to go back and get the dogs, which is when I grabbed the ring, and also the bandanas for the dogs that I had made , and put them on the dogs.  At this point, all the secret guests had arrived in the parking lot and followed me back to the spot where everyone else was taking photos.  When I walked up to her, I had the dogs, and she seemed oblivious.  I told her that I got the dogs bandanas for the photos, and she goes, “Okay”, so I asked if she read them.  She looked at the bandana on Raleigh and immediately whips around to me and says, “Shut up!” Before starting to cry.  I got down on one knee, and don’t remember a single thing I said, but ultimately she said yes, and everyone cheered.-Chaz Cook

Meet one of our  engagement couples! Gerald and Heather

Creating a ring was something I was actually terrified of. My girlfriend wanted a very specific, purple ring with some diamonds around it. I was having issues finding them online until I saw recent work of Drew and Paynes at my friend's wedding, where he had purple sapphires embedded in his wedding band. After speaking with Drew and providing multiple examples, Drew crafted an amazing draft for the ring. Created in less than a few months, I had the beautiful diamond ring with a center purple saphire stone. Heather loves it so much, it's the ring of her dreams and on top of that - she's an oncologist nurse so who made it means even more (Drew being a cancer survivor). This ring means more to us than any ring I could've found at a big box store. Thank you so much, Drew, I will absolutely be sending people to Payne for any ring needs they may have. -Gerald Tracy

I've been lucky enough to have made great friends with lots of my kids friends.  Gerald is a great friend of my son Cody and they went to Oklahoma State together.  Gerald reached out to me a while back and wanted something classic in an engagement ring but with  a little unique twist.  He'd seen a purple stone and thought it was beautiful so we located a purple sapphire that he liked the color, did the design and CAD with a diamond halo and side stones, and was able to handle  it all from thousands of miles away.    As you can see, I think he got it right.   Congratulations to you both!
